Aljabaly Named Second-Team All-MIAA

ANGOLA, IND.  --  Trine University senior men's soccer player, Nooh Aljabaly (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater), has earned second-team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association honors for his individual efforts this season.

Since transferring to Trine prior to last season, Aljabaly has now earned All-Conference honors in both seasons as a member of the Thunder program.  Last season, he earned first-team accolades and was the 2018 MIAA "Newcomer of the Year."  

So far this season, Aljabaly currently leads the team in all major statistical categories including: goals (seven), game-winning goals (3), assists (six), points (20), shots (89) and shots on goal (43).  Among MIAA opponents, Aljabaly leads all players in shots taken and also ranks in a tie for fourth nationally in shots per game (5.93).  He also ranks sixth in the MIAA in assists, eighth in goals and ninth in overall points.

Aljabaly's best game of the season came against Northwest Indiana in which he scored two goals and assisted on three others to finish with seven points.

In his Trine career, Aljabaly has played in 32 games to date has scored 27 goals and 11 assists for 65 points.  Ten of his goals have been game-winners and he is five-of-nine in career penalty kicks.  He currently ranks fourth all-time in goals (27) and sixth in points (65).  He is tied for first all-time in game-winning goals and is first all-time in shots per game (5.19).  

In addition, he has five single-season records that includes: points per game (2.65 - 2018), goals per game (1.18 - 2018), game-winning goals (seven - 2018), shots attempted (89 - 2019) and shots per game (5.93 - 2019).  He also holds the second most totals in a year in shots per game (4.53 - 2018) and tied for second in penalty kick attempts (six - 2019).

Trine will be the No. 6 seed in this year's MIAA Tournament via tiebreaker and will travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. to take on No. 3 seed Kalamazoo College on Saturday, Nov. 2.  The game is set to begin at 1 p.m.  The winner of the game will advance to face No. 2 seed Hope (Mich.) College on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
