Men's Soccer Beats Albion, 1-0

ANGOLA, IND.  --  For the second straight game, the Trine University men's soccer team defeated it's opponent via a 1-0 shutout, this time defeating Albion (Mich.) College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association game at Weaver Field in Angola, Ind.

The game remained scoreless until late in the first half when freshman Tyler Murphy (Greenfield, Ind./Greenfield Central) found the back of the net off of a free kick at the 39:22 minute mark to put Trine (8-4, 3-3 MIAA) ahead at the break, 1-0.

In the second half, Albion (0-3, 0-2 MIAA) recorded seven shots, but only one ended up on net which was saved by Trine goalkeeper Troy Saylor (Caledonia, Mich./Caledonia) to preserve the shut out as the Thunder went on to win by the final of 1-0.

Saylor played all 90 minutes in net and made two saves in the winning effort.

Trine will wrap-up the regular season when it hosts Alma (Mich.) College on Friday, Apr. 16 at Weaver Field.  The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
