2023 Trine Men's Soccer Schedule Unveiled

ANGOLA, Ind. – Head coach David Jacobs and the Trine University men's soccer program has announced their 2023 season schedule. Trine held a record of 9-7-3 in the 2022 campaign and look to grow this year and reach the NCAA Tournament once again.

The Thunder open the fall with four consecutive road matches, beginning with the College of Wooster at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 1. From there, Trine makes tripes to Otterbein University on Sunday, September 3, North Central College on Friday, September 8 and Carthage College on Sunday, September 10.

On Saturday, September 16, the Thunder will compete at home for the first time against Elmhurst College. The match on Weaver field will kick-off at 1 p.m. Trine remains at home on Wednesday, September 20 when Ohio Northern University visits Angola. Last season, the Polar Bears made it to the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament and the two teams tied 1-1 in Ada, Ohio in 2022.

Before Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) plat begins, Trine will make two more road trips. The Thunder return to the Buckeye state on Saturday, September 23 for a match against Kenyon College. The Owls reached the Quarterfinal Round of the NCAA Tournament one season ago. The team then heads west to take on Wheaton College on Wednesday, September 27.

The defending MIAA regular season and tournament champions awaits Trine in the opening match of league play when the Thunder host Calvin University on Wednesday, October 4. It is an opportunity to knock off the Knights at home after they went 17-3-2 in 2022.

For the next conference match, Trine will meet Kalamazoo College on Saturday, October 7 and the University of Olivet comes to town on Tuesday, October 10.

Three of the final four MIAA contests will be away for the Thunder, starting with back-to-back road contests on Saturday, October 14 at Albion College and Wednesday, October 18 at Hope College. The final home match in the 2023 regular season will be contested on Saturday, October 21 versus Alma College.

Trine and Adrian College will wrap up the conference portion of the slate on Tuesday, October 24. Just before the conference tournament begins, the Thunder will play at Indiana University as they have the previous two seasons on Friday, October 27.
