Trine University named Trevor Ferrell the head men's soccer coach on Nov. 16, 2011. Ferrell had previously served under his father Mike for the previous four seasons.

In four seasons, Ferrell's teams have compiled a record of 24-49-5. He has coached three student-athletes to MIAA selections, including two First Team honors.

Ferrell has been a part of the program at Trine for eight years, four years as a player and four years as an associate coach. Ferrell, a 2007 graduate of Trine (then Tri-State), was a four-year varsity starter for the Thunder from 2003-06. In his junior year, he was the recipient of the Coaches Award.

Trevor began serving as an associate coach in 2008 when Mike took over the program. During his time as an assistant, Trevor coordinated practices and implemented game philosophies. Trevor took over the day-to-day decisions of the team along with added recruiting decisions when he was named head coach.
