ROYAL OAK, MICH.-- Trine's Caleb Knust has been named MIAA Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Knust (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) posted a straight-set, 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles and teamed up with Joe Dunbar for an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles to lead the Thunder to a 6-3 nonconference victory over Rose-Hulman. The win was Trine's sixth of the season, surpassing last year's victory total. Knust is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Knust has won six-straight matches at no. 1 singles. He has not lost yet during the 2014 calendar year. He is 11-2 overall in singles play this season, including 9-1 in dual matches. He is 2-1 in tournament play.
Trine returns to action Saturday, Mar. 29 when they open MIAA-play at Kalamazoo. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m.
