Knust Continues Success at Saint Louis ITA

ST. LOUIS, Mo.-- Trine's Caleb Knust continued his successful run at the 2015 USTA/ITA Men's Small College Central Regional Tennis Championships today.

Knust (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) pulled an upset victory in his first match of the day, defeating no. 7 seed Sven Kranz of the University of Chicago. Knust dropped the first set, but was able to rally back for 6-4, 6-1 winners to earn the victory. The win advanced the senior into the round of 16 in the Men's Open Singles division.

Another Chicago opponent got the better of Knust in his second match of the day however, as Max Liu dealt Knust a 6-1, 6-2 defeat. The loss was Knust's first of the year.

Trine's Judson Quinn (Russiaville, Ind./Western) and Victor Flynn (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Grosse Pointe South) were each elminated from the Men's Collegiate Singles division in their first matches of the day.

The Central Regional championships continue tomorrow.
