TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Trine men's tennis team was swept by Rose Hulman 9-0 in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon at Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.
Victor Flynn (Grosse Pointe, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South) and Blake Trusty (Fremont, Ind. / Fremont) provided the toughest matches of the day for the Thunder. Flynn dropped the first set 7-6, pushing his opponent to the tiebreaker and extended the tiebreak before falling 13-11. Andrew Schiffman was able to put away Flynn 6-3 in the second set to earn the victory/
Trusty took the first set from Brendan Goldacker, 6-4. Goldacker was able to rally back to take the second set and went on to win the tiebreaker, 10-6.
The match was the first of the spring season for the Thunder. Trine fell to 3-2 overall. Rose Hulman is now 8-3 on the season.
The Thunder return to action Monday, Mar. 21 with a match at NAIA-foe Huntington. First serve is slated for 4 p.m.
