Men's Tennis Drops Non-Conference Match to Spring Arbor

ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to non-conference opponent Spring Arbor Wednesday afternoon at Angola Middle School.

Colin Couch (Batavia, Ohio / Glen Este) picked up the lone Thunder victory of the afternoon at No. 5 singles. The freshman continued his strong debut collegiate campaign with wins by 6-4, 6-2 scores. Couch improved to 5-1 on the season and has now seen action in the Nos. 3-6 courts in singles play. Couch has picked up at least one win playing in each flight this year.

Couch and Blake Trusty (Fremont, Ind. / Fremont) combined for the toughest doubles match of the day. Couch and Trusty provided a tough challenge for their opponents, but fell by 8-6 decision.

The loss dropped Trine to 5-5 overall. Spring Arbor improved to 8-14.

The Thunder return to MIAA play Wednesday, Apor. 13 at Adrian. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
