ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine men's tennis team closed out its season with a 9-0 loss to MIAA foe Alma Friday evening at Angola Middle School.
Victor Flynn (Grosse Pointe, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South) was able to push his opponent to a tiebreaker. Flynn rallied to win set two 6-3 after dropping the first set. Flynn was unable to win the tiebreaker, falling 10-3. Flynn and Colin Couch (Batavia, Ohio / Glen Este) each finished the season tied for second on the team with six singles wins.
Nathan Scroggins (Hanover, Ind. / Southwestern) competed as a member of Trine's top six players for the first time on Senior Night.
The Thunder concluded the season 5-11 overall. Trine placed seventh in the MIAA with a 1-6 conference mark. Alma concluded the season 8-8 overall and placed fifth in the conference with a 3-4 league record.
