Thunder Drop Tight Match to Texas Lutheran

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Trine men's tennis team dropped a hard fought match to Texas Lutheran, 5-4, Thursday night at Lake Cane Tennis Center.

Victor Flynn (Grosse Pointe, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South) picked up a comeback victory in a tiebreaker. Flynn dropped the first set before rallying back to take the second 6-3 and even up the match. The junior won the tiebreaker by a score of 10-7. Flynn is now tied for the team lead with five wins.

Flynn and Judson Quinn (Russiaville, Ind. / Western) combined on one of Trine's doubles victories. The duo notched an 8-4 victory in the no. 1 court. Flynn and Quinn have won two of their three matches during the spring trip.

Tyler Davis (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Snider) added a singles victory. The senior picked up the win by 6-1, 6-4 scores at no. 5 singles. Davis improved to 3-1 on the season in singles play.

Blake Trusty (Fremont, Ind. / Fremont) and Jacob Weiss (Richmond, Ind. / Richmond) notched the team's final victory of the day in a long doubles match. The duo earned a 9-7 victory. Trusty and Weiss have won two of their three matches as a duo, all of which have come during the spring.

Trine fell to 4-4 overall with the loss. Texas Lutheran improved to 7-2.

The Thunder host Bethel (Ind.) for a non-conference match Thursday, Mar. 23 at 4 p.m.
