ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine men's tennis team saw its three-match winning streak snapped by No. 18 Kalamazoo as the Hornets earned the 9-0 victory Saturday.
Spenser Gilbert (Elkhart, Ind. / Elkhart Memorial) and Colin Couch (Batavia, Ohio / Glen Este) gave Kalamazoo its toughest test at no. 3 doubles. The Trine pairing was able to take five points, but were defeated by their counterparts 8-5.
Trine fell to 7-6 overall and 0-1 in the MIAA. The Hornets improved to 8-1 overall and 1-0 in conference matches.
The Thunder return to action Wednesday, Apr. 5 at Albion. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
