ANGOLA, Ind. -- The 2017-18 Trine men's tennis schedule is now available, the team announced today.
The fall portion of the schedule includes five matches and one tournament. The Thunder open the season with three consecutive road matches at Wittenberg, Earlham and Bethel (Ind.). The team then hosts back-to-back home matches against Holy Cross College and Indiana Tech before individual members will compete in the ITA Central Region Championship in Kalamazoo, Mich.
The season resumes when the team returns to Orlando, Fla. for spring break for the second year in a row. Opponents and locations for those matches will be announced at a later date. Last year's spring break slate included a match at the USTA National Campus as well as other outdoor venues in the greater Orlando area.
Trine then returns north to wrap-up the non-league portion of the schedule. The Thunder will host Bethel (Ind.) for the second meeting of the season between the two teams after traveling to face Taylor and Ohio Northern.
The MIAA schedule includes a match against every conference foe. Trine will host Albion, Adrian and Olivet in conference play. The Apr. 20 match against Olivet will be the team's Senior Day. The Thunder travel to face Kalamazoo, Calvin, Alma and Hope in conference play.
