Holy Cross Slips by Men's Tennis

ANGOLA, IND. – The Trine men's tennis fell to Holy Cross College in a highly contested match by the score of 5-4.

The Thunder came out strong in the doubles portion of the competition picking up two wins. In the No. 1 match, seniors Victor Flynn (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Gross Pointe South) and Judson Quinn (Russiaville/Western) won by 8-3. In the No. 3 match senior Colin Couch (Batavia, Ohio/Glen Este) and sophomore Jacob Weiss (Richmond/Richmond) defeated their opponent by the score of 8-6.

In the singles portion of the dual Trine picked up two more wins. Weiss won the No. 5 match in only two sets (6-4, 6-1). It took Couch three sets, with tiebreaker points in the second, to come up with Trine's final victory of the day (6-0, 6-7 (5-7), 10-5).

Trine will next compete Sunday, Sept. 24, at 2:00 p.m. when they take on Illinois Institute of Technology in a home dual.
