Flynn, Quinn Compete in ITA Regionals

KALAMAZOO, MICH. – The Trine men's tennis team was represented by Victor Flynn and Judson Quinn at the ITA Central Regional Championship.

The tournament is comprised of the top 128 singles competitors and the top 64 doubles team from the central region. The pair competed in both the individual tournament and as a team in the doubles tournament.

As individuals, both seniors won their first matches of the tournament.

Flynn (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Grosse Pointe South) defeated Tyler Cole of John Carroll University (Ohio) by the scores of 6-3, 7-5. For his efforts, he received a match against the 17th ranked player in the tournament who won 6-1, 6-1.

Quinn (Russiaville/Western) won his match against Kalamazoo College's Skylar Norgaard by the score of 7-5, 6-3. In his second match, despite putting up a strong performance, Quinn was defeated by Joshua Hsia of Case Western Reserve University by the score of 6-3, 6-4.

In doubles, the team exited the tournament after two 8-3 losses.

The performance in the event marks the end of the fall season for the program. The spring schedule will begin March when the team travels to Orlando, Fla.
