ORLANDO, FLA. -- The Trine University men's tennis team came away with a comeback 5-4 victory over Morningside College.
The Thunder fell behind during the doubles portion of the match coming away with only one victory to the oppositions two. The team of seniors Victor Flynn and Judson Quinn came away with the 8-4.
Trine took four of the singles matches in the contest to come away with the 5-4 victory. The two crucial victories came from Quinn and sophomore Jacob Weiss (Richmond, Ind. / Richmond). Quinn came back after dropping the first set 4-6, with a 6-4 victory in the second and a 10-2 victory in the tiebreaker. Weiss came away with a tight first set victory 7-6 (7-5) before dropping the second set. He came back to win the tiebreaker 10-4.
The Thunder will take the courts again tomorrow, March 6, when they face off with Muhlenberg College at 11:30 a.m.
