Trine Drops Match to Judson

ORLANDO, FLA. -- The Trine University men's tennis team was defeated by Judson (Ill.) University by the score of 6-3, yesterday.

Trine found themselves in a hole following the doubles portion of the match dropping all three matches to enter singles down 3-0.

The Thunder made a valiant effort in the singles portion of the match to make a comeback but fell short winning just three of the matches. In the No. 2 match, senior Judson Quinn (Russiaville, Ind. / Western) dropped the first set before winning the second and the tiebreaker to come away with the victory with scores of 2-6, 7-5, 10-8. At the No. 3 match, junior Blake Trusty (Fremont, Ind. / Fremont) won the first set and the tiebreaker to win 6-4, 1-6, 10-5. The final Trine win came in the No. 6 match where senior Bryce Hernly (Indianapolis, Ind. / Ben Davis) won with scores of 4-6, 6-2, 10-2.

With the loss, Trine falls to 2-7 so far this season. They will look to bounce back when they return to action Saturday, March 17, at 10 a.m.
