Men's Tennis Fall to Hope College

HOLLAND, MICH. -- The Trine University men's tennis team return home from Hope College with a 7-2 loss.

The Thunder dropped all three of the doubles matches by the score of 8-4 to start the match on the wrong foot.

The team's two victories came in hard-fought battles of the No. 5 and No. 6 singles. In the No. 5 singles, sophomore Jacob Weiss (Richmond, Ind. / Richmond) came away with the victory with scores of 6-4, 4-6, 11-9. Senior Bryce Hernly (Indianapolis, Ind. / Ben Davis) picked up a come-back, super-breaker victory in the No. 6 singles with scores of 4-6, 7-6(7-2), 10-5.

Trine will look to bounce back on Friday, April 20 when they host Olivet College for a 4 p.m. Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match.
