Men's Tennis Wins Handily

ANGOLA, IND. – The Trine University men's tennis team picked up a senior day victory by defeating Olivet College 8-1, today.

The Thunder started the match right sweeping the doubles portion of the contest. Seniors Victor Flynn (Grosse Pointe, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South) and Judson Quinn (Russiaville, Ind. / Western) in the No. 1 match and junior Blake Trusty (Fremont, Ind. / Fremont) and sophomore Jacob Weiss (Richmond, Ind. / Richmond) in the No. 2 match both came away with 8-1 victories. Senior Bryce Hernly (Indianapolis, Ind. / Ben Davis) and freshman Isaac Everitt (Scottsburg, Ind. / Scottsburg) came away with the 8-0 win.

Trine continued their winning ways in the singles portion taking five of six possible points for the 8-1 match victory. Flynn in No. 1 and Quinn in No. 2 finished off their senior day celebration both taking their matches with scores of 6-1, 6-0. Hernly also picked up a senior day win by defeating his opponent in the No. 6 match with scores of 6-1, 6-1. Everitt and Weiss finished off the scoring for the Thunder taking the No. 4 and No. 5 matches with scores of 6-0, 6-0.

Trine will continue their season when they travel to Taylor University on Tuesday, April 24 for a non-conference contest set to begin at 4 p.m.
