Men's Tennis Returns from Break with Win

ANGOLA, Ind. -- Three members of the Trine University men's tennis team went undefeated in the match as the team defeated Defiance College by the score of 8-1.

The Thunder started the match right picking up three doubles match victories to take a 3-0 lead into the singles portion. In the No. 1 doubles match the team of senior Blake Trusty (Fremont, Ind. / Fremont) and junior Jacob Weiss (Richmond, Ind. / Richmond) picked up the victory 8-0. In the No. 2 match sophomore Isaac Everitt () and freshman Jaxon Davis (Angola, Ind. / Angola) came away with the victory 8-2. The team took the final match by default.

In the singles portion of the contest, Trine finished off the win taking five of six. Weiss, Davis, and Everitt all picked up victories to finish off the evening undefeated. Junior Jordan Baker (Salem, Ind. / Salem) picked up the other contested match with scores of 6-0, 6-0. The Thunder picked up their final point in the No. 6 match where they won by default to take the contests 8-1.

The Thunder improve to 4-2 on the season. They will continue their season during their spring break trip. They start their time in Florida by facing off with King's (Pa.) College on Monday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m.
