Men's Tennis Edged Out by Clark University

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- The Trine University men's tennis team came away with two of the doubles matches but ultimately lost the contest to Clark University by the score of 5-4.

Trine started the day strong taking two of three doubles matches. The team of Isaac Everitt (Scottsburg, Ind. / Scottsburg) and freshman Jaxon Davis (Angola, Ind. / Angola) came up with the most convincing win of the day for the Thunder with an 8-1 victory in the No. 3 match. The other win came in the No. 2 match where Jacob Weiss (Richmond, Ind. / Richmond) and Jordan Baker (Salem, Ind. / Salem) needed tiebreakers to take the match 8-7 (7-5).

The lead disappeared in the singles portion of the contest where the team only came away with two wins to fall in the contest 5-4. Davis picked up his second win of the day with scores of 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 3 match. Freshman Adam Dills (Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble) came up with the other singles victory with scores of 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 6 match.

The Thunder fall to 5-3 following the loss. They will continue their spring break trip tomorrow, March 6 when they face off with Otterbein University at 8 a.m.
