Thunder Defeat Visiting Pilots

ANGOLA, Ind. -- Four members of the Trine University men's tennis team went undefeated as the team defeated visiting Bethel College by the score of 7-2.

The Thunder started the contest right taking two of three doubles matches and the early 2-1 lead. In the No. 2 match juniors Jacob Weiss (Richmond, Ind. / Richmond) and Jordan Baker (Salem, Ind. / Salem) came up with the victory by the score of 8-3. The other win came in the No. 3 match by sophomore Isaac Everitt (Scottsburg, Ind. / Scottsburg) and freshman Jaxon Davis (Angola, Ind. / Angola) with the score of 8-1.

Trine continued their winning ways in the singles portion of the competition taking five of the six matches. Two members of the team came up with victories with scores of 6-2, 6-2, Everitt in the No. 4 match. and Baker in the No. 6 match. Weiss in the No. 2 match with scores of 6-2, 6-4 and Davis in No. 3 match with scores 6-4, 6-2 also went undefeated in the contest for the Thunder.

Freshman Evan Trusty (Fremont, Ind. / Fremont) picked up the final win for the Thunder in the No. 5 match with scores of 6-3, 6-4.

Trine improves to 6-5 following the victory. They will take the courts again on Saturday, March 23 when they face off with Wittenberg at 1:00 p.m.
