Men's Tennis Swept by Spring Arbor

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- The Trine University men's tennis team came up short against host Spring Arbor University as they fell by the score of 7-0.

The Thunder fell in all three of the doubles matches which gave the Cougars the 1-0 lead, as the teams played under the new NAIA scoring rules. The closest that Trine came to a victory in the doubles portion of the contest came from the effort of the No. 2 team including senior Jacob Weiss (Richmond, Ind. / Richmond) and freshman Aaron Streit (New Paris, Ind. / Fairfield) who fell by the score of 6-4.

Trine would go on to lose all of the singles matches as well. Senior Sid Petersen (Crown Pointe, Ind. / Bellmont) came closet to a victory in the No. 1 singles match where he lost with scores of 6-1, 6-4.

The Thunder fall to 2-1 following the loss. They will take the courts again on Sunday, Sept. 15 when they travel to face Anderson (Ind.) University. The dual match is set to start at 1:30 p.m.
