Men's Tennis Sweeps Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Trine University men's tennis team took all nine points as the defeated Anderson (Ind.) University 9-0.

Senior Sid Petersen (Crown Pointe, Ind. / Bellmont) and sophomore Evan Trusty (Fremont, Ind. / Fremont) took the No. 1 doubles match by the score of 8-2 in a decisive first win of the afternoon. In the No. 2 match senior Jacob Weiss (Richmond, Ind. / Richmond) and freshman Aaron Streit (New Paris, Ind. / Fairfield) came up with an 8-6 win. The final doubles win came from junior Isaac Everitt (Scottsburg, Ind. / Scottsburg) and sophomore Jaxon Davis (Angola, Ind. / Angola) in the No. 3 match by the score of 8-5.

Petersen made it a perfect day with a 6-1, 6-3 win in the No. 1 singles match. Weiss took the No. 2 match in thrilling fashion with scores of 5-7, 6-0, 11-9. Streit took the No. 3 match with scores of 6-3, 6-1 while Everitt came away with a 6-4, 6-0 win in the No. 4 match. 

Freshman Drew Dixon (Fishers, Ind. / Fishers) came up with his first win of the day with scores of 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 5 match. Senior Jordan Baker (Salem, Ind. / Salem) finished off the sweep in the No. 6 match with scores of 7-5, 6-3.

The Thunder improve to 3-1 following the win. They will continue their season by traveling to face Grace (Ind.) College on Friday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m.
