Men's Tennis Drops Final Match of the Regular Season

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Trine University men's tennis team dropped their final regular-season match after a 7-2 loss to Calvin University. The Thunder are still set to enter the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) men's tennis tournament after finishing fourth in the standings.

Calvin came out strong taking all three doubles matches in the contest. Trine picked up their first win of the day in No. 4 singles match where freshman Ryan Smith (Peru, Ind. / Peru) defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-0. The team's other point came in the No. 6 singles match where sophomore Alex Mullet (Westfield, Ind. / Westfield) came away with a 6-2, 3-6, 10-7 victory.

Trine falls to 12-6 overall and 4-3 in MIAA play finishing the season fourth in the standings. They will await the determination of their opponent for the first round of the MIAA tournament.
