FREELAND, Mich. – Cole Goodman [Eagle, Mich. / Grand Ledge] of Trine men's tennis has been named Athlete of the Week by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).
The Thunder were undefeated in their first two matches of the season, with wins 9-0 and 7-2 versus Manchester University and Franklin College.
Goodman swept his Manchester opponent (6-0, 6-0) in the number one singles match and received a forfeit win in the number three doubles with Drew Dixon [Fishers, Ind. / Fishers].
In the home opener against Franklin, Goodman secured a number one singles victory 6-2, 6-1 as well as a number three doubles win 8-2 with Dixon.
Wednesday and Friday are the next two days the Trine men's tennis team is in action, with road events at Goshen College and Anderson University.
