Men's Tennis Tripped Up at Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Trine University men's tennis team dropped their first match of the season with a loss at Goshen College. The Thunder were unable to take a point in the match and fell 7-0.

In the doubles portion of the contest the Trine No. 1 team of junior Aaron Streit (New Paris, Ind. / Fairfield) and sophomore Ryan Smith (Peru, Ind. / Peru) came closes to a victory falling in their match 6-4.

Freshman Cole Goodman (Eagle, Mich. / Grand Ledge) played one of the close matches in the singles portion dropping the No. 1 match 6-1, 7-5. The other close singles match was at No. 3 where senior Jaxon Davis (Angola, Ind. / Angola) fell short 7-6 (7-3), 6-0.

The team falls to 2-1 following the loss. They will return to the courts on Friday, Sept. 17 when they travel to face Anderson (Ind.) University for a 4 p.m. contest.
