Men's Tennis Falls to Judson

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Trine University men's tennis team dropped the final match of their spring break trip, falling to Judson (Ill.) University by the score of 8-1.

The Thunder played tough matches in all three of the doubles matches. The team picked up their lone victory of the day in the No. 1 match where the team of freshman Cole Goodman (Eagle, Mich. / Grand Ledge) and junior Drew Dixon (Fishers, Ind. / Fishers) won a thriller in a tiebreaker with the score of 8-7 (8-6). The No. 2 match ended in an 8-5 loss for Trine and the No. 3 match would also go to a tiebreaker but the team of senior Jaxon Davis (Angola, Ind. / Angola) and freshman Caleb Morris (Terre Haute, Ind. / Terre Haute South Vigo) would drop the contest 8-7 (7-0).

Two members of the team would force a super tiebreaker in their singles match but the team could not get a win. Morris finished the No. 6 match with close loss 5-7, 6-1, 2-10 and sophomore Ryan Smith (Peru, Ind. / Peru) would do the same in the No. 5 match 1-6, 6-3, 7-10.

Trine falls to 4-4 following the loss. They will return home for their next contest when they host Manchester University on Wednesday, March 16 for a 4 p.m. dual match.
