ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's tennis team dropped their match against visiting Wabash College by the score of 6-3.
The Thunder would pick up their first win of the game in the No. 3 doubles match, but fell behind 2-1 entering the singles portion of the dual. The win came from senior Jaxon Davis (Angola, Ind. / Angola) and freshman Caleb Morris (Terre Haute, Ind. / Terre Haute South Vigo) by the score of 8-3.
The team would try to comeback in the second part of the match but would only score two more wins to make the final score 6-3. Sophomore Ryan Smith (Peru, Ind. / Peru) would win in the No. 5 match with scores of 6-4, 6-2 and then Morris would finish the day undefeated with a 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 6 match.
Trine falls to 5-5 following the loss. They will travel to Alma College to begin Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play in their next contest. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29.
