Thunder Bow Out of MIAA Men's Tennis Tournament

HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Trine University men's tennis team bowed out of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) tournament after a loss to their hosts from Hope College by the score of 5-0.

The Flying Dutch would take all three doubles matches, but two of the team's would put up strong resistance in their matches. The team of junior Aaron Streit (New Paris, Ind. / Fairfield) and sophomore Ryan Smith (Peru, Ind. / Peru) would fall in the No. 1 match by the score of 8-4. Then in the No. 2 match, freshman Cole Goodman (Eagle, Mich. / Grand Ledge) and junior Alex Mullett (Westfield, Ind. / Westfield) would also play a closer match losing 8-3.

The contest would end quickly during the single portion of the day, with Hope taking two quick matches to reach the fifth point and secure the win.

The team finishes the season 10-8 overall following the loss.
