ALMA, Mich. – The Trine University men's tennis team remained undefeated in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play by defeating Alma College 9-0.

The Thunder took all three doubles matches with the score of 8-2. Sammy Yin and Andrew Spirrison competed at No. 1 with Cole Goodman and Drew Dixon at No. 2 and Nicholas Jen and Caleb Morris in the No. 3 match.

It took super tiebreakers in a pair of matches for Trine to finish off the sweep. Elijah Schilthuis won the No. 4 match in marathon fashion with scores of 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 10-3. Also in for a long match was Morris at No. 5 where he won 4-6, 6-3, 10-4.

Yin in the top match and Dixon in the No. 6 match had the most convincing of the wins both with the score of 6-2, 6-2. Goodman won the No. 2 match 6-0, 6-4 and Spirrison won the No. 3 match 7-5, 6-2.

The Thunder improve to 13-3 overall and 5-0 in MIAA play. They will next take the courts when they face off with Calvin University on Saturday, April 20. The Knights are also undefeated so far in MIAA play but will face Albion College before hosting Trine for the 11 a.m. contest.
