TRINE HOSTS FIRST INDOOR TRACK MEET OF THE SEASON

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Trine University Indoor track team turned in solid efforts as they hosted their first meet of the season in a quad meet with Tiffin University, Adrian College and Defiance College.

In the men’s division, the Thunder finished third with 103.5 points as Division II Tiffin won with 179.5 points. Tyler Bourdo and Nate Konzen each won events as Pourdo took home the gold in the 400m in a time of 51.24. Konzen took home the win in the 800m clocking in at 2:07.71. In other races, Nate Grigsby finished second in the 200m with a time of 23.67 and the 4x400m relay also finished second finishing with a time of 3:32.91.

In the field events, Bourdo placed second in the long jump with a distance of 6.38m. Dustin Stutzman finished second in the shot put with a throw of 15.74m and Andrew Stein also placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 12.67m.

On the women’s side, the Thunder also placed third with 94.16 points as Tiffin again won with 272 points. Aryona Ostrander took home the Thunder’s lone victory, earning a sweep of the 400m winning in a time of 1:04.39. Sannie Anderson finished second in the 1,000m with a time of 3:19.13 and Rachael Bly finished fourth in the 200m with a 28.57 finish.

Katie Finch turned in the top field performance for the Thunder finishing third in the pole vault clearing a height of 2.75m. Rounding out the top finishes for Trine was Erika Rockwell who finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 12.04m.
