Thunder Place Sixth at DePauw Invitational

GREENCASTLE, IND.-- The Trine men's track and field team placed sixth in the DePauw Invitational, held Saturday afternoon at Blackstock Stadium.

The Thunder earned 49 points in the meet. Tyler Bourdo (Plainwell, Mich./Delton-Kellogg) won the 400 Meter Dash to turn in Trine's top finish and added a second-place finish in the 200 Meter Dash. The 4 x 400 Meter Relay team placed second. The top-10 finishers in each event earned points for their team. Ten men's teams competed in the event. Vincennes took first with 147.5 points.

Bourdo ran a time of 48.82 seconds to win the 400 Meter Dash. His time in the 200 Meter Dash was 22.02 seconds.

The second-place finish for the 4 x 400 Meter Relay was run in 3:23.29.

Sam Gilly (St. Joseph, Ill./St. Joseph-Ogden) came up big in the Hammer Throw, placing third with a throw of 46.11 meters. Teammate Andrew Bunting (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) added a sixth-place finish with a heave of 44.65 meters.

Luke Fimreite (McCordsville, Ind./Mount Vernon) placed fifth in 400 Meter Dash, while Jacob Leopold (Ottawa, Ohio/Ottawa-Glandorf) added a fifth-place finish in the 800 Meter Run. Lincoln Frey (Pettisville, Ohio/Pettisville) rounded out the fifth-place performances with a vault of 14'-1.25" in the Pole Vault.

Adam Schaaf (Greentown, Ind./Eastern) added a personal-record time of 4:15.30 in the 1500 Meter Run.

Trine will compete in the MIAA-Jamboree next Saturday, Apr. 12 at Alma College.
