Bourdo Advances to Championship Race

DELAWARE, OHIO-- Trine's Tyler Bourdo advanced to the championship race of the 400-Meter Dash with his performance in the preliminaries at the 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Bourdo (Plainwell, Mich./Delton-Kellogg) ran a time of 48.09 seconds to finish eighth in the preliminaries. That put him in the final spot among championship qualifiers. The performance gives the junior All-American honors in the event. Bourdo has now earned All-American honors in the 400-Meter Dash in both the indoor and outdoor seasons this year. Performers representing the top 20 qualifying times in the nation competed in today's preliminary heats.

Tomorrow's 400-Meter Dash Championship race is scheduled to be run tomorrow at 3:05 p.m.

The 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships are being hosted by Ohio Wesleyan at Selby Stadium and George Gauthier Track. The National Championships conclude with tomorrow's events.
