Bourdo Places Seventh at National Championships

DELAWARE, OHIO-- Trine's Tyler Bourdo placed seventh in the nation in the 400-Meter Dash at the 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which concluded Saturday.

Bourdo (Plainwell, Mich./Delton-Kellogg) ran a time of 48.01 seconds to earn the seventh-place finish. His performance capped off a stellar season that also saw the junior place fifth in the nation during the Indoor season and earn All-American honors in both the Indoor and Outdoor seasons. Bourdo advanced to today's Championship race after finishing eighth in preliminaries held Friday with a time of 48.09 seconds.

This weekend's All-American performance finishes off a season that also saw Bourdo named First-Team All-MIAA and win the MIAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week award twice. He won the 400-Meter Dash at the DePauw Invitational, Al Owens Invitational, and MIAA Field Day.

Bourdo also set a school-record in the 200-Meter Dash this year.
