BOURDO AND 4X400M RELAY QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS

INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee announced the participants in the 2013 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Trine sophomore Tyler Bourdo (Plainwell, Mich./Delton-Kellogg) qualified 12th in the 400m with a time of 47.77. Bourdo will need to qualify in the top 9 during the prelims to make it to the finals. The prelims of the individual 400m will take place on Friday, May 24 at 6:10 p.m. (CST).

The Thunder also qualified their first-ever relay as a NCAA member institution, in the 4x400m event. The team of Bourdo along freshman Luke Fimreite (McCordsville, Ind./Mount Vernon) and seniors Dan Linder (DeWitt, Mich./Grand Ledge) and Nate Konzen (Toledo, Ohio/Toledo Christian) qualified 15th for the event with a time of 3:15.03. The race will go off Thursday, May 23 at 9:15 p.m. (CST).

Finals for all the track events will be held on May 25 beginning at 1:45 p.m.

For each men’s individual event the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.

The championships will be held May 23-25 at Wisconsin-La Crosse.
