Richardville Earns MIAA Track Athlete of the Week Honors

FREELAND, Mich.-- Trine's Patrick Richardville has been named the MIAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Richardville (Leo, Ind./Leo) had a superb weekend at the Vanderbilt University Black and Gold Invitational, competing in a field mostly made up of Division I and II runners. The freshman finished fourth in the 100-meter dash in 10.83 seconds- the best time in the MIAA this season in the event. Richardville also placed seventh in the 200-meter dash and helped the Thunder to a second-place finish in the 4-x-100-meter relay as they posted a time of 42.62 seconds. He is being honored as MIAA Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.

Richardville is looking to carry over a strong showing from his debut indoor season into his first collegiate outdoor campaign. The freshman set a school-record in the 60-meter dash, running a time of 7.01 seconds in the Trine Indoor Championships. He also showed promise in the 200-meter event.

Trine will compete in the DePauw Invitational this Saturday, Apr. 4. Events are slated to begin at noon.
