Bourdo Named MIAA Track Athlete of the Week

FREELAND, Mich.-- Trine's Tyler Bourdo has been named the MIAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Bourdo (Plainwell, Mich./Delton-Kellogg) won the 400-meter dash at the MIAA Jamboree this past Saturday, finishing in a time of 48.92 seconds. His time was the only sub-50 second time ran in the event. Bourdo was also part of Trine's winning 4-x-400-relay team. The quartet of runners ran a time of 3:20.02. Bourdo is being honored as Athlete of the Week for the first time this season and the fifth time in his career.

Bourdo's performance in the 400-meter dash is currently 22nd in the nation. The senior has qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships each of the last three years. Bourdo is a four-time All-American in the event, with two honors each in the indoor and outdoor seasons. He placed seventh in the nation in the event during the indoor season.

Trine will compete in Grand Valley State University's Al Owens Invitational this Saturday, April 18.
