Men's Track and Field Sets another School Record

INDIANAPOLIS-- The Trine men's track and field team set another school record in the University of Indianapolis Winter Break Meet, held Friday at the Athletic Recreation Center.

For the second consecutive week, Logan Lindsley (Battle Creek, Mich./Quincy) set a new program-best indoor mark in the triple jump. This week, Lindsley came away with 42 foot, 0.75 inch performance. Lindsley also turned in a solid long jump performance, placing eighth with a jump of 21 feet, 2.5 inches.

Jeffery Barnett (Fremont, Ohio/Fremont-Ross) continued the success for the Thunder in jumps, placing third in the long jump. Barnett's jump of 22 feet, 2.5 inches was mere inches shy of the the school-record he set in his debut last week.

Fellow freshman Troy Fritz (Monte Vista, Calif./Sangre de Cristo) also saw success in the triple jump. Fritz topped 41 feet to finish just one foot behind Lindsley's record-setting performance.

Sam Gilly (St. Joseph, Ill./St. Joseph-Ogden) notched Trine's best performance elsewhere in the weight throw. The senior's toss of 54 feet, 0.5 inches was good enough for third. Courtney Mitchell (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Leurs) added a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 46 feet, 7.5 inches.

On the track, Trine was paced by freshman Will Collins (Marion, Ind./Marion) in the 60-meter dash. Collins ran a time of 7.08 seconds to finish best among Division III runners in the event. He placed seventh overall.

John Daniel (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) added an eighth-place finish in the pole vault, as the senior topped the 14-foot mark.
