ANGOLA, IND.  --  The Trine University men's track and field team began the 2017-18 indoor season with the unscored annual Sean Brady Conditioner.

The Thunder posted wins in several events on the day that was highlighted by senior Patrick Richardville (Leo, Ind./Leo) who posted two top marks nationally in a pair of events.  Richardville ran a time of 6.97 seconds to win the 60-meter dash which ranks as the seventh quickest time in NCAA Division III so far this year.  His mark also ties the school record which was set by Richardville last year.  In addition to his effort in the 60-meter dash, Richardville went on to win the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.46 seconds which is currently the fifth fastest mark nationally.

Also posting top times includes a first-place finish by freshman Derek Miller (Shipshewana, Ind./Westview) who ran a time of 4:30.00 in the one-mile run.  Junior Jasper Bassett (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) crossed the finish line in first place in the 400-meter dash with a mark of 50.43 seconds.

In the field events, junior Jacob Payne (LaPorte, Ind./LaPorte) took top honors in the pole vault, clearing a height of 14' 6" (4.42m).  Fellow junior Nick Gerber (Goshen, Ind./Goshen) joined Payne in the winner's circle with first-place showing in the shot put after a toss of 46' 10.25" (14.28m).
