Richardville, Martin Named MIAA Track Athletes of the Week

ANGOLA, IND.  --  Senior Patrick Richardville (Leo, Ind./Leo) and junior Mitchell Martin (Monroe, Mich./Monroe) were named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week.

The Thunder began the 2017-18 indoor season over the weekend with the annual Trine Sean Brady Conditioner.

Richardville captured a pair of events in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash.  In the 60m, Richardville posted a time of 6.97 seconds, tying his own school record that he set last season, and ranked fourth nationally through the first weekend of competition.  He then went on to run a time of 22.46 seconds in the 200-meter dash to take top honors individually his adjusted time for the event is fifth fastest in NCAA Division III so far.

Martin recorded a personal best throw in the hammer toss of 55' 9.25" (17.00 meters) to garner Player of the Week honors.  His distance also currently ranks sixth in NCAA Division III through the first week of competition.

The Trine men's track & field team will next compete in the Findlay Open hosted by the University of Findlay next Saturday, Dec. 9.  The start time for the meet has yet to be announced.
