ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Trine University men's track and field team had numerous top performers on Saturday in the Toy Drive Invite at the University of Mount Union.

Junior Jake Gladieux [Oregon, Ohio / Whitmer] finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.41 seconds and senior Josh Davis [Sterling Heights, Mich. / Sterling Heights] was fourth in the 60-meter dash at 7.05 seconds to lead the sprinters.

The 1600 relay team of Ryan Smith [Peru, Ind. / Peru], Connor Kissinger [Garrett, Ind. / Garrett], Kyran Pearson [Elkhart, Ind. / Elkhart Central] and Gladieux secured a third-place finish with a combined time of 3:35.71.

Top finishers in the other track events included Ben Williams [Farmington Hills, Mich. / Harrison] in the 200-meter run (23.38 seconds), Ryan Smith in the 400-meter run (53.79 seconds) and Noah Ballard [Tipp City, Ohio / Tippecanoe] in the 800-meter run (2:05.80). Smith and Ballard each set new personal best times in their events.

Williams was also a participant in the long jump, where he placed second at 6.78 meters (22' 3"). Ethan Spahr [Osseo, Mich. / Pittsford] was just behind in fourth with a jump of 6.58 meters (21' 7.25"). Travis Dowling [Swayzee, Ind. / Oak Hill] was a top-five finisher on the day. In the shot put, his longest throw of 13.77 meters (45' 2.25") put him fifth on the leaderboard.

Other field event leaders for the Thunder included Theodore Samra [Lansing, Mich. / DeWitt] with a sixth-place finish in the weight throw at 15.58 meters (51' 1"), as well as an eighth-place high jump mark of 1.85 meters (6' 0.75") by Greysen Spohn [Peru, Ind. / Peru] and ninth-place triple jump by Noah McClellan [Schererville, Ind. / Lake Central] at 12.57 meters (41' 3").

Trine continues the indoor season on Friday, December 10 at the Indiana Tech Strive for Greatness Indoor Meet.
