Track and Field in Action at Ohio Northern for Last Chance Event

ADA, Ohio – A few student-athletes from the Trine University track and field team were in action on Saturday in the Polar Bear Final Qualifier. This is the final opportunity for competitors to turn in times good enough to qualify for the NCAA DIII Indoor National Championships. The selection process for the event concludes tomorrow.

Senior Noah Acker [Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble] highlighted the afternoon by running a school-record 8:39.81 in the 3000-meter run. He improves upon his best time of the season by nearly three seconds.

Two Trine athletes were in action in the 60-meter dash, with Josh Davis [Sterling Heights, Mich. / Sterling Heights] securing a time of 6.99 seconds in the final and Danny Vinson [Berrien Springs, Mich. / Berrien Springs] had a best time of 7.02 in the prelims.

Haley Livingston [Fort Worth, Texas / Everman] tried to improve her time in the 60-meter hurdles and score in the long jump. Livingston ran a 9.17-second 60-meter hurdle time and went 5.48 meters (17' 11.75) in the long jump.
