Thunder in Action at Indiana Tech on Monday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Trine University men's track and field team competed in "The Monday Meet" hosted by Indiana Tech and the day was highlighted by a new school record.

Junior Jake Gladieux [Oregon, Ohio / Whitmer] recorded a time of 14.26 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles, a feat never before accomplished in program history. He won that event, as well as the 400-meter hurdles. He is closing in on the school record in that event as well with a time of 52.52 seconds.

Ben Williams [Farmington Hills, Mich. / Harrison] had two top Trine finishes as well as Noah Acker [Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble]. Williams was 10th in the long jump at 6.51 meters (21' 4.25") and 14th in the 200-meter dash at 22.64 seconds while Acker completed the 1500-meter run in 4:02.73, good for seventh, and the 5000-meter run in 15:11.35, good for fifth overall.

Wrapping up the running events, junior Aidan Lapp [South Bend, Ind. / Riley] was fourth in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 10:06.72.

Noah McClellan [Schererville, Ind. / Lake Central] finished sixth in the javelin with a toss of 43.55 meters (142' 10.00") to score the highest finish of all field athletes. Greysen Spohn [Peru, Ind. / Peru] was eighth in the high jump at 1.92 meters (6' 3.50") and Ethan Spahr [Osseo, Mich. / Pittsford] tenth in the triple jump at 13.00 meters (42' 8.00")

Up next for the Thunder is the Indiana DIII Championships on Saturday, April 16 at DePauw University.
