Sprinters Lower Times at Harrison Dillard Twilight and Distance Competitors in Action at Saint Francis

BEREA, Ohio & JOLIET, Ill. – The Trine University men's and women's track and field teams sent competitors to Baldwin Wallace University on Friday evening to the Harrison Dillard Twilight – a final opportunity to improve times and scores before the NCAA Outdoor National Championships - as well as the University of Saint Francis in the Saint Francis Fighting Chance.

The men's sprinters were highlighted on the day, with three of them setting personal bests in the 200-meter dash. Josh Davis [Sterling Heights, Mich. / Sterling Heights] led the way with a time of 22.08 in the event, followed by Danny Vinson [Berrien Springs, Mich. / Berrien Springs] at 22.34 seconds, Ben Williams [Farmington Hills, Mich. / Harrison] at 22.61 seconds and Evan Selby [Lake Villa, Ill. / Lake Villa] at 23.45 seconds. Davis, Vinson and Selby were the ones to set new personal bests.

The trio of Vinson, Davis and Williams were also in action in the 100-meter dash prelims. Vinson went 11.14 seconds, with Davis at 11.17 seconds and Williams at 11.40 seconds. Selby partook in the 110-meter hurdles, where he finished with a time of 15.51 seconds in the prelims.

Greysen Spohn [Peru, Ind. / Peru], Vinson, Williams and Davis completed the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 41.90 seconds, one-tenth quicker than their race-winning time at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Outdoor Championships. Spohn also secured a score of 1.99 meters (6' 6.25") in the high jump as an individual.

Holden Martin [Indianapolis, Ind. / Scecina Memorial] ran a 4:02.08, a personal best in the 1500-meter run. The Thunder men also had Theodore Samra [Lansing, Mich. / DeWitt] launch a 52.60-meter throw (172' 7.00") in the hammer throw.

On the women's side, Evie Miller [Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead] ran a 10:20.94 in the 3000-meter steeplechase, while Haley Livingston [Fort Worth, Texas / Everman] went 15.09 seconds in the 100-meter hurdle prelims and completed the long jump with a distance of 5.49 meters (18' 0.25").

At Saint Francis, distance runners Lydia Randolph [Jefferson, Ohio / Edgewood Senior], Joseph Packard [Kokomo, Ind. / Western] and Noah Acker [Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble] were in action. Randolph went 38:52.91 in the 10000-meter run and Packard completed the same event in 32:07.55. Acker raced in the 5000-meter event and crossed the finish line in 15:43.10.

The NCAA Outdoor National Championships take place from May 26-28 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
