Trine Throwers Compete at Defiance

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Trine University men's track and field team sent a few throwers to the Dick Small Invite on Friday afternoon, hosted by Defiance College. The Thunder were third out of three teams, but only competed in two total events: the shot put and weight throw.

Colten Zableckis led the way in the shot put with a first-place score of 12.87 meters (42' 2.75"). Darius Kurtz (11.36 meters / 37' 3.25"), Colton Wampler (10.99 meters / 36' 0.75") and Chase Lewis (10.84 meters / 35' 6.75") were in positions 3-5 on the leaderboard. The weight throw saw Trine take the top four positions, with Andrew Henderson tossing a 13.89-meter (45' 6.75") weight to claim first. Behind him was Zableckis at 13.24 meters (43' 5.25") and Myles Jackson at 11.54 meters (37' 10.25").

The Thunder track and field programs are back in action tomorrow, February 11, for the Midwest Elite Invitational at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
