USTFCCCA Unveils All-Region Honorees

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the 2022-23 Indoor Track & Field All-Region recipients. A combined five members of the Trine University men's and women's track and field programs were honored as All-Region competitors in the Great Lakes.

Senior Jake Gladieux, who has qualified for the NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships, was All-Region in the 60-meter hurdles. His best time of 8.10 seconds in the event is first in the region and tied for sixth in the nation. The Oregon, Ohio native ran that mark at the Indiana Tech Strive for Greatness Invitational in December.

Senior Theodore Samra fired a new career-best and school record weight throw of 17.99 meters (59' 0.25") at the Polar Bear final Qualifier to make All-Region. The thrower from Lansing, Michigan was fourth in the Great Lakes region.

A new career-best time of 8.20 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles for senior Greysen Spohn at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Indoor Championships elevated the multi-event student-athlete from Peru, Indiana to All-Region in two events. Spohn was third in the Great Lakes region in the 60-meter hurdles and tied for fifth in the high jump at 1.98 meters (6' 6.00"), a mark set at the Indiana Tech Strive for Greatness Invitational in December.

Freshman Emma Forker was one of the top student-athletes for the Trine women and earned All-Region honors in the long jump. The Avilla, Indiana native had a career-best mark of 5.54 meters (18' 2.25") in the event, good for second in the Great Lakes region.

Joining Forker as an All-Region recipient in the long jump was Haley Livingston. The junior from Fort Worth, Texas was fifth in the Great Lakes region with a season-high mark of 5.48 meters (17' 11.75").

The NCAA DIII Indoor National Championships take place on March 10-11 at the Cross Plex in Birmingham, Alabama.
