Gladieux Breaks Two School Records to Secure Event Finals

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Jake Gladieux of the Trine University men's track and field team competed in the 60-meter hurdle and 200-meter dash preliminary events on Friday at the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships and qualified for the event finals with a pair of school record times.

Gladieux would shatter his own personal best times in each event, starting in the hurdles. He ran a 7.85-second time in the prelims, the quickest time out of all competitors to give him the top seed heading into tomorrow's finals. It is also the sixth-fastest time in NCAA Indoor Championship history in the event. The finals in the 60-meter hurdles takes place on Saturday, March 9 at 3:10 p.m.

In the 200-meter dash, Gladieux would put together the fourth-fastest time to again qualify for Saturday's event finals. He ran personal best and school record time of 21.53 seconds to earn a second opportunity to win a national championship. 5:30 p.m. will be the 200-meter dash finals.
