Athlete of the Week Honors Go to Gladieux

HUDSONVILLE,  Mich. – Jake Gladieux of the Trine University men's track and field team has claimed his fifth career Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Track Athlete of the Week award for the outdoor season with his performance at the Raleigh Relays.

The Oregon, Ohio native competed against NCAA Division I athletes at North Carolina State University over the weekend in the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdle events. In the 110-meter hurdles, he broke his own school record with a time of 14.14 seconds and set a new personal best time in the 400-meter hurdles at 51.98 seconds. He placed 13th and 9th in each of the races and was the first NCAA Division III athlete to finish each race.

Nationally, Gladieux is now ranked second in the 110-meter hurdles and first in the 400-meter hurdles across all of NCAA Division III. Up next for the team, the Thunder take part in the Spartan Invite on Friday, April 5 at Michigan State University.
