Three Selected as All-Region by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced their All-Region selections for the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. The Trine University men's and women's track & field programs saw three members chosen in four different events.

Senior Jake Gladieux was chosen as an All-Region honoree in both the 110- and 400-meter hurdle events. Sophomore Bailey Puckett was chosen as an All-Region student-athlete in the women's 1500-meter run. In the triple jump, freshman Zion Jackson nabbed the award for the first time in his career. To be selected as All-Region, a student-athlete must rank inside the top five in an event out of all schools in the region.

Gladieux advanced to the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships with his efforts in the hurdle events. The Oregon, Ohio native holds the top time in the region in both the 110-meter hurdles (14.14 seconds) and the 400-meter hurdles (51.98 seconds). He has the eighth fastest time in the nation in the 110-meter hurdles and the fourth fastest time in the 400-meter hurdles as he enters the National Championships.

Puckett's efforts to win the 1500-meter run at the 2024 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships helped propel her into position to be named All-Region by the USTFCCCA for the first time during the outdoor portion of the season. Puckett, from Cambridge City, Indiana, ran a 4:33.01 at the conference championship meet, a time good enough for third in the Great Lakes Region.

In the first outdoor season of his collegiate career, Jackson was named All-Region in the triple jump after he tallied a score of 13.76 meters (45' 1.75") at the MIAA Outdoor Championships. The mark set by the Lima, Ohio native tied him for fifth in the Great Lakes Region. It is the first time in either the indoor or outdoor seasons that Jackson has been declared an All-Region student-athlete.
