Corey Shank enters his first year as an assistant coach of the Trine University men’s and women’s track and field teams. Shank specializes in the pole vault and jump events.

In his first season, Shank coached Ryan Haarer to All-MIAA honors with a first-place finish in the pole vault at MIAA Field Day.

As an athlete Shank jumped 17 feet his sophomore year of high school to break the Indiana State Record to win his first of three State Championships ,which ranked him No. 2 in the world for IAAF U18. In his junior year he won the USATF Youth National Championship. He went on to compete at the University of Kansas, Virginia Tech, and Findlay University where he was an NCAA All-American.

A Fort Wayne native, Shank graduated from Northrop High School in 2009. Shank holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in finance and master’s degree from University of Findlay in business administration.
